OLD HARBOR TRIPS
We live and operate in Old Harbor, one of the six villages on Kodiak island year round. Old Harbor is off the road system and only accessible by boat or small plane. There are no cruise ships. This is the true Alaska that you’ve dreamed about.
We capitalize on overlapping seasons. We learned early on that clients were impressed with the ability to “do it all” in one trip, hence the name Kodiak Combos.
Kings are landed year round just as halibut are. Ling cod opens July 1st, Sitka blacktail deer season opens August 1st and ducks open October 8th. We own and operate a small lodge with two boats, one for the ocean and one for the river. My wife, Lianna, manages the lodge, while I operate the boats.
Because you are going to a remote area, part of survival and success here is based on teamwork and learning to work together on boats. I am happy to share my years of experience, passed on from generation to generation. For those coming here to sports fish, this will be applied to successfully and safely catch fish. You will become proficient on operating the rods, reels and downriggers by the time your trip is complete.
The sustainability of the fisheries is of utmost importance to us, so we do not generally catch and release fish. We are not a fly-by-night operation and we want to ensure that you can come with us next year and have a great experience. Therefore, once you catch your bag limit for a species, we will be moving on to targeting another species, or working on returning to port and processing the fish that were caught.
2023/2024 PACKAGES
3 Day Package: $4,500 per person
5 Day Package: $5,950 per person
7 Day Package: $7,000 per person
All packages include meals, lodging and dependent with the season, may include your choice of guided sports fishing, rods/reel, tackle and bait, big game transport, and/or guided sea duck hunting.
When you book a fishing trip, you are not locked into just fishing for halibut or trolling for salmon. You will have the opportunity to fish all available species. 50 lbs of sport caught processed fish per person is included in our fishing packages. Additional processed fish is $3.00 per finished pound.
BIG GAME TRANSPORTS
A 5-day, 5-night big game transport is $5,500 and fishing or duck hunting can be added on a daily basis. More information on our Big Game transports can be found here.
HEROS DISCOUNT
Active duty military, law enforcement personnel, and veterans will receive a discounted price of $4,500 per person for big game transports and a price of $5,200 an all inclusive combo package including guided sports fishing, duck hunting or big game transport in honor of the work you do.

Upon booking, a contract will be sent lining out the terms and provisions of what is included in your package. We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred dates.

SAMPLE ITINERARY(5 day trip)
Sunday: Arrive into Kodiak & Overnight
Monday:
9:00 AM Fly to Old Harbor via Island Air.
9:30 AM Arrive to Old Harbor. We meet you are the airstrip and take you to the Lodge. Get luggage settled, get geared up, grab lunch.
10:00/10:15 AM: Head to the harbor for fishing/big game transport
6:00 PM: Fishing gear up & start heading to Old Harbor. On the way, Jeff will fillet your fish. The group will work as a team, helping rinse the fish prior to it being filleted, and chunking the fish upon completion.
6:45/7:30 PM: Dinner at the lodge
Tuesday – Friday:
7:15/7:30 AM: Breakfast
8:00 AM: Ready to go (geared up, ice bagged, ready for pickup)
5:00 PM: Fishing gear up and head to Old Harbor, everyone helps with rinsing and chunking fish fillets
6:00/6:30 PM: Dinner
Saturday morning:
7:30/8:00 AM: Breakfast
9:30 AM: Head to the airport for travel to Kodiak and flight connections home.
